Bride and groom entering with the ZEO zaffa drumline in traditional dress

The entrance they'll never forget.

Where ZEO started

Drums, dabke, and a room that hasn't sat down since.

The zaffa is where the night turns on. Drums, dabke, a saxophone winding through the crowd, and the two of you carried in on everyone's shoulders. We've done this at hundreds of weddings — Arabic, Afghan, Persian, blended — and we read the room every time. ZEO started here (ZEO = Zaffit El Omor), and it's still the piece of the night we're most protective of.

What we bring

Every piece of the procession.

Zaffa Entrance

The traditional wedding procession — drums, dabke and the two of you walked in on the crowd's shoulders.

Drum Show

A full drumline set built for the dance floor, the sahra, or a mid-reception energy lift.

Dabke Show

Trained dabke dancers in traditional dress pulling the whole room into the line.

Grand Entrances

Custom entrances for the couple, the wedding party, or the parents — timed to the music and the doors.

Live Musicians

Saxophone, violin and hand percussion woven into the procession or standing on their own.

Traditions we know

We tailor the entrance to your culture — and we've done it for mixed and non-Arab weddings too.

Real specifics, not a menu. Below are the traditions our drumline, dancers and musicians actively perform — with the flexibility to blend them for a couple whose families come from different backgrounds.

Arab zaffa
  • Lebanese zaffa
  • Palestinian zaffa
  • Egyptian zaffa
  • Syrian zaffa
  • Jordanian zaffa
  • Iraqi zaffa
Other grand entrances
  • Afghan attan & entrance
  • Persian aghd procession
  • South Asian baraat
The ensemble

Who's actually in the room.

Every zaffa is scored to the couple and the venue. Pick the drumline size, add live musicians where they belong, and we handle the arrangement.

Darbuka / tabla

Lead hand drum — the pulse of the procession.

Def & riq

Frame drums for the top-end and the clap.

Oud

Melodic anchor for softer, traditional openings.

Saxophone

Woven over the drums for the walk-in and the sahra.

Violin

Ceremony processionals and slower cultural pieces.

Hand percussion

Congas, shakers and dohol for the mixed-culture dance floor.

Drumline sizes
2 drummers

Intimate procession — smaller venues, hallway entrances, cocktail hour lift.

4 drummers

Our standard zaffa — full sound, dabke line, saxophone or violin optional.

6 drummers

Big-room ballroom entrance — dohol, dabke troupe and choreographed doors.
