The story

How the day came together.

Noor's family is Syrian, Ethan's is American, and they picked Cancún so both sides could travel together. We flew our full team in — four drummers, saxophone, DJ, and the photo and video crew — for a three-day weekend at Nizuc.

The Friday welcome was a beachfront zaffa at sunset. Saturday's ceremony stayed classic and quiet — an open arch on the sand — and then the reception opened with a second, louder zaffa into the ballroom. Sunday was a farewell brunch.

Because everything was our team, the travel logistics stayed on one call sheet instead of five.
